About this Role
We seek a highly motivated individual to join BlackRock SMA Solutions as a Product Strategist Associate for our Active SMA team based in Princeton, NJ. Our team works closely with investment teams across asset classes within BlackRock and is responsible for Separately Managed Account (SMA) management, implementation and model portfolio delivery.
This professional will participate in development and delivery of investment solutions, articulate market and product communications, respond to internal and external enquiries, and help drive product strategy. Individual will possess an in-depth knowledge of our SMA offerings, outstanding communication skills, and ability to develop positive working relationships across the organization. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative setting is critical.
Successful candidate will bring robust technology and problem-solving skills to help develop and drive efficiencies and automation across the product strategy function. You will also need to have excellent skills to automate the gathering of information utilizing internal BlackRock tools such as Explore and external tools such as PowerBI and Copilot.
Key responsibilities
• Collaborate with the team of investment professionals and work alongside Portfolio Managers to represent SMA strategies to internal and external partners.
• Maintain a complete understanding of investments, performance and risk positioning of BLK SMA product suite and competitive landscape.
• Deliver subject matter expertise, handle product strategist activities including queries on RFIs, RFPs, Due Diligence Questionnaires, and sponsor portal data. Complete a wide variety of ad hoc partner requests and strive to deliver an outstanding level of client service.
• Provide ongoing business support in the pursuit of business growth, including gathering competitive intel, and crafting business strategy materials and presentations. Identify and drive initiatives to enhance SMA product strategy client service.
• Further develop our automated client reporting functions and reports for our SMA strategies, in collaboration with other teams; as well as seek to leverage the capabilities of other internal BLK partners and technology applications, while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Collaborate with internal partners for new investment strategy and/or new distribution relationships launches. Be a subject matter expert throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business or Finance with strong quantitative skills.
• Passionate about the markets and investing; proven financial services experience.
• Solid understanding of the asset management industry and capital markets
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• High proficiency in Excel, Power Point; database skills essential; Bloomberg and other market data systems useful; Python, SQL, PowerBI, and Morningstar a plus.
• Organized, analytical and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player; ability to form meaningful working partnerships with a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks.
• Demonstrated record of flexibility, responsiveness, and self-starting personality with a consistent track record of innovation.
• Excellent planning and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
