We have an exciting position open in Mukwonago WI: Buyer/Planner

Position Summary

Purchases materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization and in alignment with regional strategies. Manages the vendor base in support of site-level purchasing activities, ensuring alignment with regional strategies. Analyzes demand and production capacities, schedules, decides on appropriate action plans, and takes necessary steps to meet customer commitments. Collaborates with Purchasing, Operations, Quality, and Suppliers on service issues, process improvement initiatives, and inventory management. Identifies and implements continuous improvements to supply chain processes.

Job Elements & Position Responsibilities

Review purchasing requisitions for necessary approvals, convert to purchase orders, and issue to vendors

Manage day-to-day purchasing activities to support business operations

Monitor and expedite material availability to meet production schedules and customer requirements

Coordinate creation and updates to purchasing master data

Manage material change requests as needed

Ensure supplier adherence to AptarGroup purchase order terms; negotiate terms when necessary

Develop material forecasts and share with key suppliers

Lead and foster continuous improvement in the purchasing process

Lead and support quality initiatives involving the vendor base

Manage material costs within budget and collaborate with vendors to reduce costs through formal inventory programs (e.g., Kanban, Consignment, VMI)

Identify opportunity for savings and improved payment terms

Support and adhere to system procedures and company policies

Review demand and apply planning logic to meet customer needs while managing inventory and customer forecast needs

Issue Purchase Orders, check acknowledgements and communicate delivery status with necessary departments

Identify VMI/Consignment Opportunities - Supportive Selection Criteria

Manage inventory for assigned products to meet service and performance goals

Evaluate production capacity and generate production schedules

Identify qualified source(s) of supply

All other duties as assigned

Additional Job Functions

Generate monthly reports and respond to data requests

Participate in interdisciplinary project teams

Communicate potential supply interruptions due to late deliveries

Attend and contribute to sub-plant and departmental meetings

Support procurement activities for assigned categories and vendors

Serve as backup to department personnel as needed

Required Qualifications/Experience/Skills

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or Operations Management, or a minimum of eight years of equivalent experience in a buyer/planner role

3-5 years of material planning, inventory control, or production scheduling in a manufacturing environment

SAP experience preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
