Staffmark is hiring a Patient Account Representative for a well-established healthcare organization in Lafayette, LA. If you're looking to grow your career in a supportive, inclusive environment while helping patients manage their medical accounts, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of customer service experience (medical office or patient records preferred)

Basic knowledge of insurance types (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)

Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 forms, HIPAA, and billing regulations

Understanding of medical terminology and insurance benefits

Responsibilities

Respond to inbound calls and emails from patients

Address billing inquiries, collect payments, and set up payment plans

Adjust account balances, issue statements, and process refunds

Review financial hardship applications and process accordingly

Maintain strong communication with patients and internal teams

Perform other administrative duties as assigned
