The
Survey CAD Designer
is responsible for transforming field data and survey notes into accurate and detailed CAD drawings and maps. This role supports surveyors, engineers, architects, and project managers by preparing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction survey deliverables using modern drafting techniques and software. There is the opportunity to work remotely or in any of our North Carolina offices. Responsibilities: Prepare and revise survey drawings, plats, and exhibits based on field data, sketches, and project requirements. Import and process raw survey data from GPS, total stations, and other field instruments. Generate base maps, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and construction staking drawings. Ensure all survey drawings meet company and client standards, as well as applicable state and local regulations. Collaborate with project managers, survey crews, and engineers to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the drafting process. Maintain organized electronic files and drawing standards across multiple projects. Perform quality control checks on drawings and data prior to submittal. Stay current with CAD standards, software updates, and surveying technologies. Qualifications: Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in survey drafting or related civil/survey CAD work. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (required); experience with MicroStation or other CAD platforms is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong understanding of land surveying principles. Familiarity with processing survey data from GPS, total stations, and digital levels. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Effective written/verbal communication and teamwork skills. Primarily office-based position; occasional field coordination may be required. Desired, but not required Qualifications: Experience with Trimble Business Center. Field surveying experience.
