POSITION OVERVIEW The Chief Product Officer (CPO) will play a defining role in leading MCG through its next chapter of growth and transformation Reporting to the President & CEO, this executive will unify and accelerate MCG’s entire product ecosystem spanning content, analytics, data science, engineering, marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations around a shared vision for innovation and impact.
As the executive accountable for both product strategy and commercial performance, the CPO will own the P&L for MCG’s product portfolio, ensuring every decision connects market insight, customer value, and technical execution into measurable growth. Working closely with Hearst Health and MCG’s functional leaders, the CPO will bring a disciplined, data-driven approach to product development and lifecycle management to ensure seamless integration between technology excellence, clinical credibility, and market success.
Key priorities will include defining a bold multi-year roadmap that advances MCG’s evolution into an AI- and API-enabled SaaS platform; strengthening cross-functional collaboration across teams; and building a high-performance culture that prizes customer centricity, innovation, and execution at scale. The CPO will also serve as a visible thought leader externally, representing MCG’s voice in the broader healthcare technology landscape and fostering partnerships that accelerate growth and market influence.

KEY POSITION FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Define and own the long-term product vision and roadmap aligned with MCG’s mission, growth strategy, and evolving healthcare landscape.
Lead product development and execution, driving operational excellence across software (SAFe Agile) and clinical teams.
Manage the P&L for MCG’s product portfolio, achieving financial goals and advancing sustainable growth.
Develop new products and service opportunities that leverage MCG’s clinical strength and AI, including rigorous financial analysis and market validation.
Develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team encompassing Product Management, Market Insights, Government Relations, Partner Management, and Product Operations.
Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Hearst Health leaders to translate product strategy into commercial success.
Build and manage MCG’s partnership strategy, including AI and integration partners, to expand ecosystem reach.
Lead the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch, iteration, and eventual deprecation, ensuring customer impact and scalability.
Define go-to-market strategy, pricing, packaging, and positioning to drive adoption, margin, and revenue growth.
Represent MCG as a visible thought leader across the healthcare and technology ecosystem.
QUALIFICATIONS
15+ years of product leadership, ideally with 7+ years at executive level (VP, Head of Product, etc.), in healthcare technology, digital health, healthcare SaaS, and AI applications.
Demonstrated success delivering and scaling healthcare or medtech products with proof points of generating meaningful revenue, adoption, and outcomes.
Proven ability to lead product organizations through significant transformation, introducing new operating models, scaling teams, and delivering measurable enterprise impact.
Deep domain knowledge in healthcare and evolving technology needs of the market.
Strong grasp of technology, AI, and data concepts sufficient to guide strategy and investment in close partnership with engineering and data science teams.
Excellent business acumen with experience managing P&L, pricing strategies, go-to-market, partnerships, and scaling operations.
Proven ability to build and scale teams; exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management skills.
Customer-centric mindset; experience working with clinical users, providers, payers, healthcare executives while prioritizing measurable client impact.
Mastery of product development best practices, agile/product ops, UX design research, and human-factors design where relevant.
Experience in strategic planning and track record of successful execution.
In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to healthcare data and software.
Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to travel, including overnight, up to 25%.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS In addition to a competitive base salary of $400k (national)/$425k (Seattle), MCG Health enhances the compensation package with executive bonus, generous employer contributions to health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as employer-paid basic life and long-term disability insurance.
