Temporary position based in Tampa, FL, United States. This per-diem Neonatologist role supports the Department of Pediatrics within the Morsani College of Medicine and is affiliated with Tampa General Hospital (TGH).

Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a per-diem Neonatologist to serve the clinical and educational missions of the Division of Neonatology. The division is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL. TGH is a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. It has a level 3 NICU and the 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU, a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center. USF/TGH Neonatology participates in the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Florida.

Responsibilities Duties:

Clinical duties in the Tampa General Hospital NICU with neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students. Attend high-risk deliveries. Other duties as assigned.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or statewide committees.

Qualifications Education & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed. The candidate will participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

5-7 years of professional experience with a track record of leading or developing programs in clinical or research settings. ECMO experience is preferred, but not required.
