Team SAIC is seeking an experienced
Red Hat Senior Linux Administrator
to operate and maintain the Linux operating systems within our environment. This position is based out of the
Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Shift Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM core hours with occasional after-hours onsite work to support a NIPR and SIPR environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provide effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of production Linux Servers in a VMWare Virtualized Environment.
Play a key role in troubleshooting server performance, ensuring security compliance, and addressing system availability issues.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet operational requirements and contribute to the overall efficiency and security of the organization's systems.
Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments of Linux-based infrastructure.
Ensure problems are tracked, escalated, and resolved at the appropriate priority level.
Responsible for daily system monitoring, security, server health, resources and log management of all Linux systems.
Experience with applying patches and building custom kernels as required to implement functionality or address security concerns.
Maintain and update Server STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) requirements to comply with DISA standards.
Administer Satellite Server, including managing content views, lifecycle environments, host provisioning, and deploying software and patches to RHEL systems.
Develop and implement automation scripts and Ansible playbooks for streamlined infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and repetitive tasks.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Active DOD Top Secret clearance.
US citizenship.
DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 Certification IAW established mandate prior to start of work - IAT Level II required (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP).
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience; Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Linux firewalls, Linux RPMs, networking configuration, and DNS.
Prior experience of working in a multi-tenant environment.
