Senior Healthcare Coding & Billing Compliance Specialist (Auditor) . At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), our Compliance team ensures the highest standards of integrity and accountability across our institution. As a

Senior Healthcare Coding & Billing Compliance Specialist (Auditor) , you’ll help safeguard MSK by conducting audits, monitoring documentation practices, supporting staff education, and ensuring adherence to billing, coding, and regulatory requirements.

Role Overview

Support prevention and detection of non-compliance across MSK, state, and federal policies

Conduct compliance audits, reviews, and assessments of billing, coding, and documentation practices

Analyze, oversee, and monitor physician documentation for compliance with guidelines and MSK policy

Manage inquiries, including intake, fact-gathering, analysis, and reporting of compliance matters

Review and approve complex external activities, such as data sharing and third‑party audits

Prepare, assemble, and present audit results to clinicians, Service Chiefs, and administrators

Deliver compliance outreach, trainings, and awareness programs for staff and clinicians

Respond to inquiries by interpreting billing, coding, and regulatory requirements

Contribute to the drafting and implementation of compliance‑related policies, guidelines, and SOPs

Key Qualifications

Active coding certification (AAPC, AHIMA) required; strong expertise in billing and coding rules

Proven experience researching and resolving billing, coding, and compliance issues

Strong background in regulatory compliance, investigations, and audits within healthcare or academic medicine

Demonstrated ability to manage confidential, sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism

Core Skills

Advanced analytical, investigational, and problem‑solving skills

Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present and train clinicians

Effective interpersonal and conflict management skills for working with diverse stakeholders

Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to prioritize multiple initiatives

Additional Information

Location: Remote

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm

Pay Range: $90,700.00 – $145,300.00
