As a
New Product Development (NPD) Engineer , you will be responsible for providing technical knowledge and expertise in monitoring, improving, and developing processes that support the manufacturing of glass-to-metal seal parts. This includes developing manufacturing and maintenance plans, assessing and improving processes, and troubleshooting product and process issues. While the role may involve aiding in the development of new parts and products, the primary focus will be on supporting existing products and systems.
The NPD Engineer will:
Focus on process stability, cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency in manufacturing hermetic products.
Collaborate with the team regarding manufacturing capabilities to facilitate production processes.
Coordinate with sales and customers concerning product design for manufacturing to ensure high-quality results. Interpret customer drawings and specifications in relation to capabilities.
Perform process failure analysis (PFMEA), gap analysis, and value stream mapping.
Review and disposition non-compliant materials (DMRs and RMAs) to determine root causes and develop corrective and preventative actions.
Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products, including establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results. Prepare work orders with details such as Bill of Materials, routings, drawings, fixtures/tooling, ECRs/ECNs, and more.
Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The NPD Engineer position requirements:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP systems is essential.
SolidWorks experience is preferred.
Electrical engineering knowledge is a plus.
Additional requirements:
Effective communication skills to interact with various departments and promote quality products.
Participation in cross-training efforts to acquire additional skills and knowledge for career advancement.
This position requires US export authorization.
