Who you are Are you a veterinarian experienced with large animals? Do you want to contribute to xenotransplantation research? The Research Veterinarian will care for pigs in a pathogen-free facility, performing veterinary procedures, sample collection, necropsies, and maintaining health records. Minimum Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university, preferably with a focus on large animals 5+ years in veterinary practice or related academic field 3+ years providing large animal veterinary care, especially porcine 3+ years following IACUC and research protocols, working with controlled substances Experience in medical testing, behavior observation, sample collection, and medication administration in large animals Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the employment state, USDA Level II Accreditation, eligible for DEA License Proficient in surgical skills, capable of performing abdominal and general surgeries No interactions with pigs outside of the company Physical Demands: lift 75 lbs, push/pull 200 lbs on wheels Job Location & Travel The role will start remotely during construction, then move to Stewartville, MN. Travel requirements are around 25% initially, up to 10% long-term, with relocation assistance available.
