Report into a strong leader (Deputy CFO) Lead financial operations and reporting for multiple entities. Manage a high-performing team and collaborate closely with senior leadership on audits, planning, and compliance. Opportunity to strengthen processes, implement automation, and make a direct impact across a well-established organization. What You’ll Own
Lead all general ledger, cash flow, and financial reporting activities for APA and affiliated entities. Oversee audits, tax filings, and consolidated financial statements for multiple entities. Supervise and develop a three-person accounting and tax team and manage external accounting service providers. Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting packages. Oversee cash management activities, including cash transfers, line of credit usage, and bank relationship management. Maintain the chart of accounts, internal controls, and compliance with debt covenants. Review dues and subscription rate tables, fee allocations, and system account structures. Oversee accounting for real estate LLCs, including depreciation, lease accounting, and management fee calculations. Coordinate and finalize annual audits and tax filings, acting as primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies. Manage the 401(k) audit and Form 5500 filing. Maintain and update Finance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with GAAP and best practices. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting and automation across systems. Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (with accounting concentration). Active CPA license. 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger management and financial reporting. S trong understanding of nonprofit accounting , compliance, and regulatory requirements—either through direct nonprofit roles or public accounting experience with nonprofit clients. Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit/tax processes. Experience managing or mentoring a small accounting team. Proficiency with accounting and reporting systems (Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce preferred). Advanced Excel skills, including building and maintaining financial reports (Jet Reporting experience strongly preferred). Experience with lease accounting, depreciation schedules, and multi-entity reporting structures. Seniority level
