The Management Trainee Program equips future managers with the skills and knowledge to be effective in this position. The department assignment is based on store needs. Duties and Responsibilities
Observe and follow all company policies and standard practices. Manage department operations in the manager’s absence, adhering to standard practices. Maintain a neat, well‑groomed personal appearance and comply with the company appearance policy. Recognize associates who deliver great service and coach others to expectations. Use company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems. Communicate effectively within the department, with the store manager, and throughout the organization. Apply merchandising techniques and layouts consistent with company standards. Ensure department compliance with pricing and coding policies. Follow the company management planning (MPP) guidelines to maintain productivity. Support company safety standards and report needed equipment repairs or maintenance. Keep the work area free of debris and safety hazards. Develop product knowledge in all assigned department areas, including product preparation. Understand the department’s Standard Practice manual. Train all assigned department associates. Maintain company sanitation and food safety standards. Maintain the department’s appearance and presentation quality. Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Provide recognition and feedback as necessary. Perform special projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications
Ability to lead and direct others. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements. Good interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team environment. Must meet minimum age requirements. Effective communication and customer service skills. Physical Requirements
Lift cases or packages weighing 1–40 lb. frequently and up to 100 lb. occasionally. Meet established volume activity standards. Stand or walk 100% of the time. Perform repetitive grasping, twisting, reaching, and hand/arm motions. Handle substances related to cleaning and packaging materials. Use hands continuously to feel objects and use tools and equipment for cutting and preparing products. Frequent bending. Preferred Requirements
Provide outstanding customer service and use skills to exceed customer expectations. Direct workflow of assigned department associates. Ensure products meet company standards. Oversee assigned areas, including product rotation. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Order and maintain inventory to maximize sales and limit shrink. Use good judgment in delegation, assignment, and follow‑up to ensure efficient performance. Maintain staffing, scheduling, and financial results. Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment per company practices. Meet the physical requirements with or without accommodations.
