Job Summary Vertiv is seeking a

Director, Platform Systems Architectures

with strong product and application expertise supporting our hyperscale, colocation and enterprise customers. This role is pivotal in developing end-to-end power, thermal, and control solutions for our data center clients, aligning our internal product roadmaps with key industry trends and synthesizing co‑optimized architectures that span diverse Vertiv product platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with full‑stack MEP and DCIM solutions with direct product development and application experience within datacenters. This role involves deep engagement with key technology vendors, strategic customers, as well as Vertiv’s Global Strategic Account teams. The candidate will work across Vertiv product platforms to design, evaluate and document integrated and optimized solutions. The role will include significant Horizon 2 strategic focus to align solutions with where our strategic partners will be over the next 2‑3 years. Key areas of solution focus will include on‑site generation, integrated power and cooling, high density solutions, converged control platforms and more. The candidate will work with global teams to define and architect solutions.

The candidate will be responsible for evaluating and comparing diverse technical approaches to complex multi‑disciplinary problems.

Responsibilities

Define and execute strategies for cross‑platform datacenter architectures ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.

Lead the architectural definition and engage with strategic accounts in evaluating cross‑platform solutions.

Foster strong relationships and establish credibility with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

Work closely with key technology vendors and partners that will support emerging architectures.

Collaborate with engineering, product management, business development, and sales teams to develop innovative solutions that align with market demands.

Identify emerging technologies and trends in power, thermal and controls that are future candidates for integration, partnership or acquisition.

Define evaluation criteria for assessing datacenter architectural fit with customer needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field); Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum 10 years of specific relevant experience with datacenter infrastructure.

Knowledge of industry standards and certification requirements relevant to energy systems (i.e. IEEE, IEC, UL, others…).

Clear understanding of diverse datacenter infrastructure systems

Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills: A team player and builder, works across product lines as well as geographies.
