Quality Reliability Engineer (STA Launch Engineer)

Position Description You will help source high‑quality parts and services worldwide while ensuring optimal cost, on‑time delivery, and a robust supply chain that supports the production of vehicles our customers want.
Responsibilities
Implement commodity‑specific business plans to ensure suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery.
Lead cross‑functional decisions with Ford & Supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues.
Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers.
Perform on‑site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations.
Lead adherence to Ford standards (i.e., Q1).
Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites.
Execute Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP).
Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality.
Skills Required
Quality Management, Problem Solving, APQP, PPAP processes.
Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice.
Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and/or capacity issues on‑site with suppliers.
Experience Required 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing processes such as Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding, Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly, Controls Automation programming, Paint, Chroming, SMC.
Experience Preferred Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience.
Education Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude.
Education Preferred Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Additional Information STA Launch Engineers must be able to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time.
