SEG Manufacturing Inc., a leading solar panel manufacturer based in Cypress, Texas, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. Reporting to Accounting Manager, this role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity through accurate cost analysis, reporting, and reconciliation, with a focus on supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be well-versed in manufacturing accounting, and capable of working cross-functionally with both local and overseas teams.
Key Responsibilities
Record keeping: maintaining accurate vendor files and safeguarding financial records and supporting documents. Process invoices: verify vendor invoices, ensure invoices entered in the system are aligned with vendor files, and obtain OA approval. Intercompany transactions: ensure proper alignment and reconciliation of intercompany payables and receivables, loan, interest, etc. across all entities. Payments: review and verify weekly payments, submit to banking systems, and ensure timely posting into accounting software. Financial Reporting: prepare and analyze reports including Accounts Payable/Receivable aging, Cost and Sales reports, Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements. Reconciliation: perform daily bank reconciliations, vendor prepayments/payables, inventory in transit, accruals, purchase/procurement and revenue reconciliation. Cost Analysis: calculate Cost of Raw Materials and Cost of Goods Sold; conduct Cost of Goods Sold reconciliation and Cost Allocation. Inventory Control: understand warehouse management principles, participate in physical inventory counts, and implement inventory accuracy practices. Fixed Assets Management: maintain fixed asset records, perform monthly depreciation, and provide fixed assets and depreciation reports. Month‑End & Year‑End Closing: assist with month‑end closing activities and support annual external audit processes. Cross‑Department Collaboration: work effectively with internal departments and overseas teams (especially in China) to resolve financial and operational issues. Compliance: ensure all accounting practices comply with GAAP and company policies. Other Requirements
Education: BA in Accounting, Finance or related field. Experience: 3–5 years of hands‑on accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (mandatory). Language: Bilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred. Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and OneDrive. Experienced with Oracle NetSuite, ERP and OA system. Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail. Analytical and problem‑solving mindset. Self‑motivated and able to work independently. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Benefits
