Base Pay Range $41.00/hr - $54.00/hr
Job Summary In this role, the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) administers respiratory care treatments, procedures, and protocols under direct supervision of department leadership and physicians for the pediatric and adult patient populations. Responsibilities include patient assessment to determine cardiopulmonary status, initiating and maintaining emergency and non‑emergency non‑invasive ventilation, and managing mechanical ventilation per department policies.
Essential Job Functions
Administers supplemental oxygen/medical gas therapy as prescribed by direct physician order or via established departmental patient care protocols; documents procedures accurately into the EPIC electronic medical record.
Administers intermittent (small‑volume nebulizer, MDI, etc.) or continuous medication delivery therapy (bronchodilators, steroids, mucolytics, etc.) per established protocols; documents procedures in real‑time fashion.
Administers bronchopulmonary hygiene, suctioning, and airway care procedures; implements airway clearance techniques per physician order or departmental protocols.
Initiates and maintains non‑invasive ventilation (BIPAP, CPAP, high‑flow cannula) on emergent and non‑emergent basis; monitors patient status and equipment, adjusting settings as needed.
Initiates, maintains, and checks status of mechanical ventilation; provides comprehensive patient assessment to recommend and implement weaning plans as per protocol.
Provides ventilator management (NIV and mechanical ventilation); monitors hemodynamic parameters and documents data accurately.
Performs arterial blood gas analysis; troubleshoots ABG analyzers and performs quality control procedures; reports results promptly.
Provides patient transport within the facility when patients are moved on oxygen delivery systems or mechanical ventilators.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an approved, accredited Respiratory Care Program (minimum two years).
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited academic institution.
Demonstrated effective communication and documentation skills.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by The National Board for Respiratory Care.
Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Basic Life Support Healthcare provider certification (American Heart Association).
Neonatal Resuscitation Program, PALS, or ACLS certification preferred, depending on patient care area assigned.

Compensation & Benefits Overview $20,000 Sign On Bonus available. The pay range reflects the anticipated wage for a full‑time equivalent and is reviewed annually. Compensation offered at the time of hire varies based on candidate qualifications, experience, and organizational considerations, including internal equity.
