Overview As a Principal Engineer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will solve challenging technical problems and lead development, delivery, and operation of cloud services that enable novel consumer video applications. The charter is to design, implement, and operate a new set of cloud services focused on the digital media production industry, covering virtual animation workstations, digital asset management, high‑performance storage, render‑farm‑as‑a‑service, license management, and production‑pipeline services.
Responsibilities
Design cloud services for availability, scalability, observability, and testability.
Implement, validate, and document services and their component microservices.
Collaborate within the engineering team to deliver and operate services that enable animation, film, and game studios to run production workflows in the cloud.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and drive innovation.
Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
Lead implementation to realize the technical vision of the team.
Engage with geographically distributed engineering teams.
Coaching and mentoring other engineering staff.
Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications
BS/CS in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of software development experience.
Large/enterprise scale software development and engineering experience, particularly with cloud services and distributed systems.
Domain knowledge of media production workflows: digital asset management, 3D frameworks, universal scene description, rendering pipelines, image composition, and tools used by artists and editors.
Experience as a lead developer in design, implementation, and operation of cloud services.
Experience collaborating with geo‑distributed teams.
Strong background in code review, design review, and root‑cause analysis.
Design for availability, observability, scalability, testability, and recoverability.
