Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Company Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Computer Vision Engineer
to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced computer vision and perception systems in support of next-generation aerospace and defense platforms. You will play a key role in developing mission‑critical technologies, including automated inspection, target detection, object tracking, visual SLAM, and autonomous navigation solutions.
This position requires deep technical expertise, cross‑functional collaboration, and the ability to transition cutting‑edge research into deployed systems in challenging, real‑world environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement robust computer vision algorithms for detection, recognition, segmentation, tracking, and pose estimation.
Develop real‑time image and video processing solutions for aerial, ground, and space‑based platforms.
Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to extract actionable insights from sensor data (EO/IR, LiDAR, radar, etc.).
Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware teams, and software developers to integrate vision algorithms into embedded or edge‑processing systems.
Lead R&D efforts, feasibility studies, and rapid prototyping in areas such as:
Target identification and threat detection
Automated visual inspection for manufacturing and maintenance
Ensure solutions are optimized for performance, reliability, and compliance with aerospace and defense standards.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technology roadmaps and proposal development.
Qualifications Required:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in computer vision and image processing
Strong proficiency in Python and C++ with experience using OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks
Experience developing software for real‑time systems or embedded platforms
Understanding of 2D/3D vision techniques, camera calibration, sensor fusion, and image registration
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred:
Experience with aerospace or defense applications (e.g., UAVs, missile systems, ISR platforms)
Familiarity with standards such as DO-178C, MIL-STD-810, or other defense compliance protocols
Hands‑on experience with ROS, NVIDIA Jetson, or similar edge‑AI platforms
Background in deep learning optimization for edge devices (e.g., TensorRT, ONNX)
Prior work with multi‑modal sensor data (EO/IR, LiDAR, radar)
