The Construction Field Manager will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and coordinating multiple construction and renovation projects across Harmony Public Schools. This position will serve as the district’s on-site owner’s representative, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design standards, contracts, and safety regulations.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (Preferred)

Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management, facilities development, or related field (Preferred)

Experience with K-12 or Public Sector Construction (Preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities

Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.

Manages multiple construction and renovation projects simultaneously from planning to closeout.

Conducts regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety compliance

Reviews contractor schedules, pay applications, change orders, and submittals for accuracy and compliance.

Coordinates with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve field conflicts and maintain project momentum.

Coordinates with local utility providers to ensure seamless and timely delivery of all utilities required at project sites.

Tracks and reports project budgets, schedules, and milestones to the Director of Construction.

Prepares weekly and monthly progress reports with photos and key updates for leadership review.

Assists with permits, inspections, and TCO/CO approvals in coordination with contractors and local authorities.

Reviews and verifies contractor invoices and documentation to ensure compliance with approved budgets.

Ensures compliance with district construction standards, building codes, and ADA regulations.

Reviews project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for accuracy and timeliness.

Monitors quality control and ensures that project specifications are met.

Works closely with the Director of Construction and construction management team to align site-level actions with district priorities.

Maintains organized and complete project records in digital and physical formats.

Assists with procurement and contract administration, including bid reviews and evaluations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and cost management

Excellent communication and coordination skills across teams and vendors.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent project management tools.

Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.

Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.

Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.

Ability to analyze data and generate reports.

Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.

Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.

This position operates primarily on active construction sites and in field conditions, with occasional office-based work.

Work may involve exposure to dust, loud noise, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and uneven terrain

Possible exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, including outdoor weather (heat, cold, rain, and humidity)

Ability to stand, walk, and move around construction sites for extended periods of time.

Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding; bend, kneel, stoop, and reach as necessary to inspect work areas.

Must be able to wear required safety gear and adhere to site safety protocols at all times.

Excessive travel is required.
