Position Overview
A strategic governance leader to drive enterprise-wide data integrity, process optimization, and automation.
As the Data & Business Process Governance Lead, you will oversee a team of data stewards and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define and implement governance frameworks that support scalable operations, regulatory compliance, and trusted decision-making.
Use automated data validation and quality controls to elevate accuracy, efficiency, and confidence in enterprise data.
Pay Rate:
$45.00/Hour.
Responsibilities
Governance Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and lead the enterprise data and process governance strategy aligned with business priorities.
Establish governance councils, policies, and standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, and process controls.
Oversee the data steward team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
Act as a governance evangelist across business units, promoting accountability and stewardship.
Business Process Optimization:
Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify and redesign inefficient or high-risk processes.
Define process ownership models and embed governance into operational workflows.
Promote new ways of working, including automation, agile practices, and digital enablement.
Monitor process performance and compliance using KPIs and continuous improvement metrics.
Automated Data Validation & Quality Assurance:
Introduce and scale automated data validation solutions to proactively detect and resolve data issues.
Define and implement data quality checks across critical systems and workflows.
Partner with IT and analytics teams to embed validation rules into data pipelines and integrations.
Track and report on data quality metrics, issue trends, and remediation effectiveness.
Data Stewardship & Standards:
Lead the implementation of data quality frameworks, issue management, and remediation protocols.
Ensure consistent data definitions, standards, and usage across systems and domains.
Support master data management, metadata governance, and data catalog initiatives.
Drive adoption of data stewardship practices across business functions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement:
Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on governance, compliance, and operational risk.
Facilitate workshops, training, and communications to build governance literacy and engagement.
Translate complex governance concepts into actionable guidance for business users.
Align governance efforts with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOX) and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in data governance, business process management, or enterprise operations.
Proven leadership of data steward or governance teams in complex, matrixed environments.
Strong understanding of data management principles, process modeling, and governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA, COBIT, BPMN).
Experience implementing automated data validation tools and data quality monitoring solutions.
Familiarity with platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, SAP, ServiceNow, or equivalent.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Certification in Data Governance, Business Process Management, or Lean Six Sigma.
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, public sector).
Familiarity with agile delivery models and digital transformation initiatives.
Background in enterprise architecture, data engineering, or analytics.
