Intel Corporation
Cloud Software Development Engineer (Intel Contract Employee)
Intel Corporation, Folsom, California, United States, 95630
Job Details
The System, Software and Simulation (S3E) Engineering team supports the software‑first strategy through early robust system simulators. We transform how product firmware and software are developed and simulated in a modern cloud computing environment. We deliver integrated functional, performance, power, and thermal simulation several quarters before the first silicon. Great simulators result in leadership products by simulating our architecture and software before committing to product execution.
Our execution strategy focuses on key transformations: enabling shift‑left for all firmware and SW products by building functional and robust simulation models in the cloud, modernizing continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) infrastructure, fostering strong execution discipline, and driving seamless collaboration with internal and ecosystem partners.
We are seeking an experienced software developer to drive product execution of next‑generation data‑center and AI platform simulation. The candidate should have experience with pre‑silicon software product development, validation, integration, and release operations.
Responsibilities
Understand Intel Xeon and AI products and how they address key needs in the data center and AI industry.
Have a good understanding of the technical concepts, architecture, systems, and development methods associated with data center and AI platforms.
Understand pre‑silicon technology such as system simulation, virtual prototype, FPGA, emulation, and hybrid technologies.
Partner with design, BIOS/firmware, and software teams on feature development and integration plans, pre‑silicon validation schedules, system debugging, and resolution.
Behavioral Traits
Resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
Strong self‑initiative and persistence, with the ability to drive clarity in ambiguous areas.
Detail‑oriented, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive strategy and decisions.
Key interface with stakeholders and leadership internally and externally.
Strong stakeholder management, willing to manage complex and diverse stakeholders across geographies.
Proven structured technical problem‑solving skills and knowledge of agile methodologies.
Strong communication, organizational influence, stakeholder management skills, and passion for solving customer problems.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a STEM‑related field.
3+ years of experience in system software development with C, C++, System C, DML (device modeling language), and Python.
3+ years of experience architecting, designing, and implementing complex software projects.
Experience with data center and AI product architecture and systems simulation.
Experience with IA architecture, leading BIOS, OS integration, and bringing up pre‑silicon platforms including Simics, emulation, FPGA, and hybrid platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a STEM‑related field.
Experience in one of the domains: reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS), power management, CXL, memory reference code (MRC), or memory controller.
