The Dental College of Georgia, part of Augusta University, seeks a general dentistry faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level. Teaching responsibilities include participation in comprehensive care/general dentistry courses at the pre‑doctoral and post‑doctoral level. Participation in the faculty practice and research is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with the clinical experience and who demonstrate expertise in advanced technologies, digital workflow and/or dental implants to support expansion of the advanced technology curricula.
Responsibilities
Oversight of students' clinical activities to include treatment planning, professionalism and ethics, and private practice instruction.
Patient care in DPG faculty practice, maintaining quality standards for EHR in compliance with DPG policy.
Participation in Department, DCG, and AU Committees.
Scholarly research.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an ADA accredited dental school or have two years of postgraduate training and be licensed in a Georgia Board of Dentistry or eligible for licensure.
Degree equivalent to DMD, DDS, or equivalent.
Assistant Professor: no prior experience required.
Associate Professor: at least five years of full‑time service in the rank of Assistant Professor.
Professor: at least five years of full‑time service in the rank of Associate Professor.
Consistent with SACSCOC requirements; evidence of ability as a teacher; evidence of activity as a scholar; successful experience; desirable personal qualities.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience, experience with digital dentistry.
Significant clinical experience, post‑graduate training in prosthodontics or general dentistry or prior experience in dental education and working knowledge of practice management.
Shift / Salary / Benefits The position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. Full‑time equivalent: 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds.
