TWP is currently seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support the development process of our domestic and overseas samples. This person will be responsible for assisting in the execution of the technical design process from initial concept to approved SMS. 3D design knowledge and Gerber AccuMark experience preferred. The role reports directly to the Senior Technical Designer and is based in our NYC office.
Responsibilities:
Compile and catalogue weekly fit lists for all product categories including wovens, embroidery, and cut/sew
Prepare for weekly fittings by measuring and evaluating samples, pulling all relevant past samples and/or references
After fittings, assist in updating Tech Packs, including technical drawings, construction details, measurement specs, ensuring accuracy throughout the development process
Manage pattern library, ensure all patterns are received and organized in the shared drive and physical copies stored in filing cabinets
Review and audit cutters must be for all purposes including pattern pieces, seam allowances, remarks and trims. Update fusible qualities with confirmed fabrics
Create muslin and/or 3D drapes for select outsourced patterns to ensure design intent was followed
Conduct fusible testing for confirmed fabrics before cutting to ensure correct weight, drape and hand feel
Work closely with senior technical designers to maintain brand standards and ensure fit consistency across the collection
Provide support to Cut and Sew development process in collaboration with Lead T.D and design team by translating design intent into specification tech packs, including detail technical sketches, measurements, and construction details
Organize and maintain records of all creative development process for seamless production pass off
Assist in preparation for Runway Shows, Showroom Openings, Special Projects as needed
Requirements:
3-5 years' experience
Strong organizational and time management skills
CLO and/or Browzwear 3D Fashion Design proficiency a plus
Moderate to strong understanding of pattern marking and garment construction
Gerber AccuMark experience a strong plus
Excellent knowledge of Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator
Trained in PLM, Flex PLM. Kubix Link PLM a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Open willingness to partner with cross functional teams
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel, outlook, and other Microsoft programs
College degree in Fashion education preferred
