About the Role The Working Foreman plays a dual role as both a skilled tradesperson and on-site leader. This position is responsible for supervising daily construction activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and performing hands-on work as needed to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Site Supervision:
Oversee day-to-day field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. Crew Leadership:
Direct and motivate team members and subcontractors; provide guidance and training where needed. Hands-On Work:
Perform carpentry, framing, concrete, or other trade work alongside the crew when necessary. Project Coordination:
Work closely with project managers to plan daily activities, manage materials, and report progress. Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a clean, organized job site. Quality Control:
Inspect work for accuracy, craftsmanship, and compliance with plans and codes. Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations, office staff, and clients. Documentation:
Maintain daily reports, time sheets, delivery logs, and other required documentation. Problem Solving:
Identify and address issues quickly to minimize delays or rework.
Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role. Skills:
Strong understanding of all phases of construction including layout, framing, concrete, finishes, and MEP coordination. Knowledge:
Familiarity with reading blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications. Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to communicate clearly with crew and management. Technical:
Comfortable using basic project management software, mobile apps, and digital reporting tools. Certifications:
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred; valid drivers license required.
