Job Overview
J5 Consulting, a Maryland-based company founded in 2006, provides computing and consulting services to government and commercial entities, improving information system networking performance, compliance, and protecting electronic assets. The Customer’s office provides correlation services that allow enterprise systems to search very large scale data repositories for key pieces of information related to individuals and organizations. This role requires project management and technical support to manage projects and perform software development within budget.
Responsibilities Comply with the Customer’s Lean Agile methodology.
Participate in all Lean Agile scrums, sprints, and grooming sessions.
Manage progress of Commercial‑off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) product integration and development efforts.
Ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
Consult and coordinate appropriately for problem resolution, task scheduling, new resource requirements, and task clarification.
Work in partnership with an integrated team of staff and contractors.
Understand the Customer’s target environment, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
Coordinate and collaborate with security, operations, testing, and other teams to provide system information and technical support.
Create, manage and update Jira tickets.
Design, develop, and modify software systems.
Unit test software and perform code reviews.
Required Skills and Experience Agile development environment experience.
Detailed design and associated deliverables experience.
Translating customer and system requirements into design.
Designing interfaces or processes using Python.
Designing and developing services using Lambda, SQS and other AWS cloud offerings.
Hands‑on experience developing applications using React, Spring Boot, Spark, and Java.
Developing web services using Java 8+ and JavaScript.
Experience with AWS/Azure, including automated infrastructure setup.
Understanding of data collection and storage tools such as Databricks and AWS S3.
Experience with correlation algorithms from Novetta Entity Analytics.
Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, or Nexus.
Preferred Skills Recent experience with the Customer’s Lean Agile methodology.
Recent experience with the Customer's analytic tool to ingest, correlate, build, and disburse products to other applications.
Recent experience with the Customer’s correlation service.
Security and Citizenship Requirements US citizenship required; verification of US citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
Clearance verification needed before offer of employment.
Travel
Primary place of performance is a Customer location in WMA. Local travel/POV will be on an as‑needed basis within the local place of performance.
