Plant Manager - Packaging (Fort Wayne, IN) Location: 12747 Bluffton Road, Ft Wayne, IN 46809

Responsibilities An experienced Plant Manager for our Fort Wayne, IN plant. This position will be a hands‑on leadership role responsible for providing direction to supervisors and up to 100 contract employees. The Plant Manager will report to the Area Manager.

Lead safety, quality, productivity, and 5S initiatives within the facility.

Lead daily plant communication meetings to present information regarding safety, quality, and daily production planning.

Oversee and facilitate the site safety program and site quality program, including annual certifications and trainings.

Communicate daily with the on‑site staffing agency regarding site capacity and labor demands.

Ensure adherence of employees to plant safety rules and that health and safety regulations are obeyed on both shifts.

Ensure delivery of the production plan to the required date, efficiency, and quality.

Lead root cause analysis related to production, quality or safety failures within the facility.

Work with shift leadership and facilitate standardization and cohesion of daily tasks on both shifts.

Interact and communicate with customer leadership as needed.

Partner with plant leadership to enhance facility performance and metrics—lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and develop innovative practices, methods, and procedures that add value for the facility.

Create and maintain a cohesive team of leaders, provide coaching and development, establish individual and group goals and accountabilities, and evaluate work performance for direct reports.

Inform Area Manager of problems or situations that may have a significant effect on operations.

Spend time on the floor engaging with employees and overseeing plant operations as appropriate while building an effective partnership with plant hourly employees and the maintenance team to improve overall plant safety, performance, equipment uptime, operational cost, and production.

Develop a working knowledge of P&L statements to manage and control costs to improve plant financial results.

Qualifications

4‑year degree, Business Administration or Engineering preferred.

5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

High‑energy and capable of wearing multiple hats.

Position requires a high degree of independence, critical thinking, decision‑making, and strength in managing a diverse group of people.

Experience with 5S and Lean Methodology is a plus.

Ability to work overtime and on weekends if business dictates.
