Join our innovative team as a Packaging Structural Designer!
DUTIES:
Utilize provided software, equipment, and materials to solve problems and create, sample, and test packaging solutions tailored to customer needs.
Design engaging point-of-purchase, protective, E-commerce, signage, and multi-material packaging solutions.
Collaborate with the Sales team to gather and process information for customer projects effectively.
Occasionally visit customers to finalize projects and strengthen relationships.
Maintain thorough specifications and documentation for all projects.
Gain proficiency in our manufacturing equipment capabilities and limitations.
Learn and apply retail guidelines from major retailers like Walmart, Aldi, and Home Depot.
Stay updated on vital testing protocols including Hazmat, ISTA, and requirements for Amazon and Club Stores.
Manage your workload using project management software to ensure timely project completion.
Provide support to Customer Service and Manufacturing teams to ensure new product orders meet quality expectations.
Understand manufacturing processes to streamline routing designs in collaboration with production.
Keep your work areas clean and organized for a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Adhere to the policies and procedures set by Green Bay Packaging.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to foster effective working relationships with team members and partners.
Demonstrated judgment and experience in planning and achieving goals.
Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Understanding of GBP products and processes.
Four-year degree in Packaging or a related engineering field; experience in corrugated design or engineering is preferred.
Prior experience in the corrugated industry is a plus.
Familiarity with Artios CAD or similar design software preferred.
Experience with Tops or CAPE Palletizing Software is an advantage.
