As a
Security Professional – Unarmed Patrol Specialist
in
Birmingham, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. This is a Part-Time Security Officer role with scheduling via our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on availability, providing flexibility to build a schedule and gain site experience across various industries. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas to deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment. You will conduct regular patrols, maintain a visible presence, and provide outstanding customer service while supporting access control measures. You will interact with visitors and staff, utilize technology such as computers or tablets, and uphold our core values of integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach. Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise Responsibilities
Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner. Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site. What We’re Looking For
Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Minimum Requirements
Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client. Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred. Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
