General Statement of Duties:
The assistant coach's primary role is to assist the head coach in the development and management of the program and its students. The assistant coach will support the creation and implementation of training regimens, the organization of practice sessions, preparations for game day competitions, and the supervision of student athletes.
Essential Duties
Assist in the management of the soccer program.
Assist in preparing players for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching fundamental skills, and imparting knowledge of the rules.
Assist in reviewing eligibility forms and submitting them to the Student Activities Director.
Assist in collecting all health physical forms.
Monitors student academic progress.
Assists in the cleaning, storage, and proper care of team equipment.
Assist in the requisitions for supplies, uniforms, and necessary equipment through the Student Activities Director.
Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community informed and engaged with the athletic program.
Assists in organizing pre-season meetings with parents.
Helps prepare daily practice schedules and conducts practice sessions.
Attends VHSL clinics as required.
Follows county financial policies regarding the collection and receipting of funds.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to support management program through previous experience as a coach or player.
Previous coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
Coaches with prior college experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Salary - $2,550.11/Season
The stipend amount stated above is based on the 2024-2025 adopted financial plan. The annual salary, for the 2025-2026 school year, will be determined once the 2025-2026 school year financial plan is approved and adopted in the Spring of 2025.
