Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for high volume production inspection using applicable metrology software such as PC-DMIS and Calypso. Lead troubleshooting efforts for CMM operation. Lead measurement system analysis activities as required by internal and customer requirements on relevant equipment. Identify opportunities for measurement process improvement and implement automated solutions. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, to ensure that requirements are met for measurement based activities. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve issues, or provide technical information. Investigate CMM equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions such as recalibration, sensor repair, software conflicts, fixture improvements, etc. Exercises independent judgment on selection of inspection equipment for use on new and established processes through the process of technical assessment and analysis. Provides technical support for project planning, development, installation, validation and modification of inspection assets. Assists in development of inspection fixtures to ensure minimum measurement error during inspection. Write/ edit/ assesses programs utilized in manufacturing using CMM programming platforms such as Calypso, PC-DMIS, etc. Education and Experience

Minimum 2 years experience in CMM programming platforms such as Calypso, PC-DMIS, etc. Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field such as Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering preferred. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient in set-up and operation of inspection equipment. Proficiency in writing and/ or editing CMM programs (Calypso & PC-DMIS preferred) Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and the application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 Strong math skills, trigonometry. Knowledge of standard mechanical inspection methods, tools, and tolerances used to determine product acceptance. Knowledge of regulations associated with the medical device industry preferred. Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) preferred. Working knowledge of Quality Systems (FDA/ISO) within a regulated environment preferred.
