Job Description Tech Support, Documentation & Automation Specialist (Market Data Systems)

We're seeking a proactive and service‑minded Specialist to join our team. You will be the first line of support for Market Data Systems, help users learn the platform, document what you learn, and identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks. The role blends technical support, documentation, and business/requirements analysis to simplify processes for customers and internal teams.

What You'll Do

Provide day‑to‑day technical support for Market Data Systems (issue triage, troubleshooting, escalation).

Learn the system end‑to‑end: features, data flows, integrations, and common workflows.

Create, maintain, and improve documentation: user guides, runbooks, knowledge‑base articles, and onboarding materials.

Gather, document, and validate business and user requirements for system enhancements and automation opportunities.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Market Data to translate requirements into actionable specs.

Identify and implement automation opportunities (scripts, apps, or automation platforms) to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.

Develop test plans, participate in UAT, and assist with rollout of new features.

Deliver user training and contribute to ongoing training materials.

Monitor recurring issues, propose preventive solutions, and track improvement outcomes.

Maintain ticketing and issue‑tracking processes to ensure timely resolution and clear communication.

Required Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex topics to non‑technical users.

Strong customer‑service mindset with a professional, collaborative approach.

Eagerness to learn and rapidly adapt to a complex Market Data System.

Solid documentation and organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, basic formulas, reporting).

Proficiency in Python 3.x for automation and tooling:

Write small scripts to automate repetitive tasks.

Parse and transform data (CSV/Excel/JSON) and perform basic API interactions.

Share, reuse, and maintain scripts within a team.

1–3 years of experience with technical support, documentation, or business analysis.

Ability to work cross‑functionally with Market Data, IT, and Product teams.

Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow) and knowledge bases.

Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑have)

Advanced Python topics (pandas, openpyxl, API calls, error handling) and ability to refactor scripts for reliability.

SQL or data‑analysis experience.

Experience with Market Data processes (price feeds, reference data, data normalization).

Exposure to automation platforms or workflow tools (e.g., UiPath, Zapier, Power Automate).

Familiarity with writing SOPs and process documentation.

Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot); ability to review and refine AI‑generated code.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:

$45.00 – $60.00 /hr
