What you will be doing

Trading systems transformations:

implementation, upgrades and system selections for market‑leading trading organisations, including new and innovative products.

Business restructuring:

designing and implementing operating models for complex global organisations that cover the full trading and commodity lifecycle.

Digital transformation:

development and delivery of our digital trading consulting capabilities and offerings, including data‑driven trading.

Risk advisory:

helping organisations strengthen their risk management frameworks, analyse and design risk mitigation strategies, improve governance and reporting, and implement best‑practice risk‑management solutions.

Your skills and experience

Clear knowledge in one or more areas of commodity and/or energy trading markets, ideally gained whilst working for another consulting firm or at one of the industry players.

The ability to take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client‑facing environments.

Depending on your level of experience and specialism you will likely also have skills in one or more of the following areas:

Project/Programme Manager and/or Agile delivery skills.

Business Analysis skills and/or strong analytical skills.

Data strategy, architecture, and management skills.

Good understanding of, and ability to adapt to key roles across the Software Development Life Cycle.

Essential: Fluency in German in addition to English.

Desired Key Areas of Expertise

Power and Short‑Term Power Trading:

expertise in day‑ahead, real‑time, bilateral and over‑the‑counter markets, and understanding of the impact of renewables, intermittency and flexibility.

Oil and Bulk Commodities Trading:

expertise in bulk commodity trading markets with strong understanding of oil, coal, gas, LNG, metals or agricultural products; clear understanding of trading processes, market dynamics and industry trends.

LNG, Gas & Clean Fuels Trading:

familiarity with different types of LNG contracts, pricing mechanisms, including oil‑linked pricing, gas‑on‑gas pricing and hybrid models.

Freight and Shipping Trading:

expertise in marine freight markets, shipping capacity supply‑demand, key trade routes, economic cycle impacts on freight rates and familiarity with shipping contracts.
