SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to manage financial operations at our manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through budgeting and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, fixed asset management, tax compliance, and audit coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General Ledger & Month-End Closing
Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare the month-end closing package to the management.
Prepare, review, and post journal entries in GL. Perform monthly reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments. Conduct internal audit checks prior to monthly close to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Support Corporate Reporting requirements and liaise with HQ on month close queries.
Fixed Assets & Construction in Progress (CIP) Management
Maintain fixed asset register and ensure proper classification and capitalization.
Calculate and record fixed asset depreciation on a monthly basis.
Manage Construction in Progress (CIP), including project tracking, settlement, and transfer to fixed assets.
Conduct periodic asset audits and ensure compliance with asset policies.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Support the annual budgeting process for the plant.
Collaborate with operations and finance teams to develop forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Support quarterly consolidation reporting for group-level requirements.
Provide insights into cost drivers and operational efficiency.
Accounting and Audit
Serve as the primary contact for external auditors. Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
Maintain adherence to relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
Prepare and file quarterly sales tax reports.
Support corporate tax compliance liaising with external tax consultants.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or other certifications preferred.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, fixed asset accounting, and tax regulations.
Experience
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Familiar with accounting standards
Knowledge of ERP system mandatory. Experience in relevant modules of SAP greatly preferred.
Ability to use Excel for data analysis;
Understand the company's product production process and process flow
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
