Overview This position is located in our Jersey City, NJ office and will be on site 3 days a week.

AmTrust Financial Services (the "Company"), a privately held multinational insurance holding company, is currently recruiting for Accountant III to join its Financial Reporting team in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Accountant III will report to a Director and will assist with the quarterly accounting and reporting of Evergreen Parent, L.P., a partnership that owns 100% ownership interest in the Company. In addition, the role will support various aspects of the Company's global consolidation process for US GAAP reporting, including but not limited to, coordinating with global controllers to resolve intercompany and consolidation breaks and working closely with systems personnel to support ongoing projects to improve, through process and automation enhancements, the Company's global financial systems and its data. This candidate will oversee a great deal of sensitive information so a high level of discretion is required.

The salary range for this role is $57,000 - 110,000 annually. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Jersey City, NJ. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities

Record quarterly journal entries, prepare account reconciliations and quarterly variance analytics for Evergreen Parent, L.P. stand-alone activities

Oversee cash activity and forecast for Evergreen Parent, L.P. to ensure adequate liquidity

Ensure the accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of all intercompany activity by researching and resolving differences between entities and their counterparties

Liaise with other corporate areas (Controllers, Tax, GAAP Reporting, Treasury, FP&A, etc.) to resolve consolidation issues

Work closely with team members to support monthly and quarterly close processes

Support auditor requests

Assist with other ad hoc responsibilities including participation in special projects, such as system implementation and/or enhancements, business integration, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses

Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents of business and system processes

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting; CPA designation preferred, but not required

Strong understanding of US GAAP specific to financial services companies

5+ years accounting experience (2+ years of public with a mix of private experience preferred)

Knowledge of Oracle ERP and Oracle Financial Close and Consolidation (FCC) a plus

Proficient in MS Office; moderate to advanced Excel experience a must (Pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, etc.)

Working knowledge of Workiva wDesk a plus

Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a very fast-paced, challenging environment

Attention to detail and accuracy is a must

Outstanding written and oral communication skills

Self-starter capable of working independently, as well as working effectively as part of a team
