Security Officer – Armed Retail Center – Full Time

Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you will help deter security‑related incidents through routine patrols and a visible presence at a dynamic retail location. This role requires both a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card, and you will be responsible for driving and armed duties while delivering exceptional customer service.

Mon 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Tue 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Wed 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Thu 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
What You’ll Do:
Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service by following security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted behaviors.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
Collaborate with store management and local authorities as needed to address security‑related incidents and/or emergencies.
Remain alert and observant while on duty, reporting any suspicious activity or security‑related hazards to the appropriate personnel.
What We’re Looking For:
Availability across various days and shifts
Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
An active armed guard card or license is required.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
