About the Role The
Manufacturing Process Engineer
will be responsible for developing and troubleshooting plant process systems, implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing critical process variables, and maintaining process documentation. This role emphasizes continuous improvement across safety, quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction within manufacturing operations. This is an onsite position at our client's
Shelby, NC
site.
Responsibilities
Actively support and participate in site safety programs, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory safety standards.
Provide engineering support to enhance process flow, capability, yield, cost efficiency, reliability, and environmental health and safety through data-driven decision making.
Offer daily technical support to operations, including observing production runs, investigating root causes of deviations, and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Maintain and improve product quality through continuous process improvement and updated operating procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, engineering, EHS, and quality) to identify and execute technical improvements.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to customer concerns and process deviations for both existing and new products.
Serve as a technical liaison for integrating new product development initiatives into manufacturing operations.
Conduct process evaluations, capability studies, safety reviews, and design of experiments (DOEs).
Provide backup support to operations leadership in production reporting, decision-making, and directing plant personnel when needed.
Lead improvement initiatives, lean/six sigma projects, and performance analysis to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with company quality, environmental, and safety policies and maintain proper documentation for changes and corrective actions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
3+ years of relevant process manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a chemical plant or discrete manufacturing operation.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Experience with lean manufacturing and/or six sigma methodologies preferred.
