About This Position:
As a Linux/UNIX Systems Administrator supporting Geospatial Systems, you'll join our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA. The Systems Engineering team is seeking a driven Senior Linux/UNIX Systems Administrator who is highly technical and mission‑focused. This ideal candidate is ready to operate as a Tier 3 level Linux/UNIX Administrator, experienced in managing large amounts of data and storage at sites all over the world.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Daily administration of multiple RHEL servers, attached storage, and the networks they utilize
Provide Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
Implement, troubleshoot and maintain IT systems remotely
Document the management of system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
Provide support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the server/storage devices
Work within existing Ticket management practices to escape and communicate status to the customer and program
Collaborate with engineers across multiple contracts to produce security and engineering related artifacts that span technical, physical, and logical system scope
Interface with subject matter experts from across several contracts and service lanes to support and document systems environments
Provide On‑Call support on a rotational, as‑needed basis
Travel is expected for installations, repair and disaster recovery
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
10+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience
SQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended
Experience in Oracle or SQL administration/tuning, including knowledge and implementation of high‑availability solutions (Windows Server Failover Clusters, SQL Server Failover Cluster instances, and AlwaysOn Availability groups)
Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing SQL server agent alerts
Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and snapshot technologies and strategies
Knowledge of building/maintaining efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
Knowledge of Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to present to internal & external leadership
Existing knowledge of our customers’ processes, procedures and production
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Geospatial software tools
Enterprise Storage Systems experience
Oracle/SQL Databases experience
DISA STIG audits, hardening and remediation procedures
Certification and Accreditation Experience
Licensing management experience
VMware and virtual environments experience
Experience with scripting in Perl and KSH
