Job Description

Phlebotomist I – Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM with rotational shift on third Saturday 7:30AM-12:00PM.

Pay Range: $23.55 - $28.05 / hour. Full-time position. State phlebotomy license required (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions as per training.
• Research and verify test/client information and orders using lab technology systems.
• Enter billing information accurately and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and prepare specimens for transport as required.
• Perform all non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answer phones, utilize email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols, procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs on a timely basis.
• Complete required online and in-person training courses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred & required for CA, NV, WA.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Effective communication in English.
