Our client is a female-owned and operated General Contractor with a strong track record in the Pittsburgh construction market. They specialize in a diverse portfolio of commercial work, including historic renovations, K-12 and higher education facilities, healthcare, and public infrastructure projects. As the company continues to grow and modernize, theyre seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Estimator to help lead the successful execution of both current and upcoming local projects. This role is based out of their Bridgeville office, with travel to nearby job sites as needed.

About the Role As an Estimator, you will play a central role in evaluating and preparing detailed cost estimates for a variety of commercial and light industrial projects. Youll analyze plans and specifications, collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensure that all estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with client and company goals. This is a hands-on, analytical position where attention to detail and technical expertise are key. The role primarily focuses on concrete estimating, with additional experience in sitework and excavation being highly desirable.
Estimator Responsibilities: Review and analyze project scope, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates. Perform detailed concrete and sitework takeoffs and pricing. Evaluate potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement throughout the estimating process. Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure bid accuracy. Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets and bid proposals. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions. Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment throughout the estimating process. Manage workload efficiently and prioritize multiple estimates simultaneously
Estimator Requirements: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent technical training/experience preferred. Proven experience in concrete estimating (required). Experience with excavation and sitework estimating (highly preferred). Background in commercial or light industrial construction required. Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
