What Youll Do: As an Asphalt Paving Equipment Operator, youll be responsible for operating and maintaining paving machines and related heavy equipment. Youll work as part of a skilled crew to lay asphalt with precision, ensuring correct depth, grade, and finish while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Daily responsibilities include: Operate asphalt pavers and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently Set and adjust controls for proper depth, slope, and material flow Collaborate with the paving crew to lay asphalt and assist in other tasks as needed Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment Identify and report mechanical issues or repair needs Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Remain aware of surroundings, equipment, and crew members at all times Be available for
nights, weekends, overtime , and overnight travel as needed
What Were Looking For: Required: Minimum
3 years of paving equipment experience
(road, highway, or bridge construction preferred) Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and safety procedures Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Physically able to lift 5090 lbs and work outdoors in all weather Flexible with travel, changing job sites, and schedules Strong teamwork and communication skills Reliable transportation to the Albemarle office or job sites Willingness to assist with manual labor when needed
Preferred: Valid drivers license Class B CDL
(or willingness to obtain Class A) Experience with automated controls on paving equipment
