IP/Technology Transactions Attorney – Chicago (Partnership Track) A mid-sized law firm in Chicago is seeking an attorney with 5+ years of intellectual property and technology transactions experience to join its team. The firm offers a collaborative environment, lifestyle-friendly practice, and a genuine opportunity to develop into a key partner. This role provides exposure across tech transactions, data privacy, and soft IP, with the potential to act as true outside counsel and become the go-to advisor for clients. Role Focus: This attorney will handle a broad range of IP matters, including technology and licensing agreements, data privacy and cybersecurity, trademarks and copyrights, IP due diligence in M&A and commercial transactions, and AI-related arrangements, e-commerce/social media, trade secrets, and online/offline gaming.

Responsibilities

Draft and negotiate technology, IP, and commercial agreements Advise clients on data privacy and compliance matters Provide strategic analysis and support on trademark and IP issues Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to support clients’ business goals Develop business and grow the IP practice Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in technology transactions, data privacy, and/or intellectual property matters Some law firm experience Interest in business development and partnership development Admission to and good standing with the Illinois Bar Position Highlights
