The Position The Civil Design Engineer (Civil Works Design Coordinator) role is to ensure design excellence and safety in design. Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, develop and organize the design efforts focused on civil works. Provide administrative and technical support and direction of Design. Act as a technical reference for the construction team, coordinating with all parties. Serve as the referent in the technical aspects of civil works design, procurement and future construction. As Civil Works Design Coordinator, manage the civil works Designer (earthworks, drainage, management of traffic, roads, pavement, utilities deviation) and interface with other disciplines including systems, track, structure and stations. Be a key actor in the design approval process, including design review, constructability review, means and methods interface, client review, third-party reviews and permitting. Review and approve drawings developed by subcontractors and other designers during different project phases. Manage requests for information from designers and review subcontractor requests. Promote and implement Safety in Design and Environment in Design. Key Skills and Knowledge
Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution 5-10 years of engineering design experience within design-build projects Minimum 5 years in design and/or design management of civil works and associated technical trades Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others Broad knowledge of personnel safety, process safety and environmental principles and regulations Project management and administrative skills to plan, organize, coordinate and control the development and execution of multiple projects including cost and schedule control Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment Excellent technical and problem-solving skills with minimal guidance Experience working on Joint Venture construction projects Fluent in English with professional proficiency Valid Driver's License Preferred: Professional Engineer PE registration Experience in AutoCAD Knowledge of structured project management or project development and execution processes Salary Range
115,000 to 130,000 Dynamic and challenging work environment On-site PPE requirements including hard hats, safety glasses and reflective vests Physical Demands
