Bain Capital Credit has a world-class team of over 100 investment professionals with extensive experience analyzing and managing credit investments. The Asset Based Finance team manages our global ABS, CLO, CMBS, RMBS, and other structured investments and is a rapidly growing area within Bain Capital Credit. We are looking for an Analyst or Associate to join our Asset Based Finance team in the Boston office.
Responsibilities
Underwrite, evaluate and invest in ABS opportunities across the capital structure Work directly with portfolio managers and senior investment staff to identify and action ABS investments across a wide spectrum of opportunities including investment grade, non-investment grade, and residual tranches Lead and assist in investment efforts including cross-asset relative value analysis, fundamental credit assessments, securitization modelling, and statistical analysis Help manage the structuring, underwriting, and investment monitoring processes with both internal collaborators and external counterparties Maintain and enhance Bain Capital Credit’s ABS & structured products analytics platforms
Qualifications
Strong academic credentials (BS/BA from highly regarded institution) and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience 1-3 years of experience in ABS investing, trading, and/or structuring Experience in modelling and sensitizing ABS returns and underlying cash flow structures Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and strong relationship-building skills Excellent communication skills with ability to synthesize complicated analyses concisely and to articulate insightful conclusions compellingly
Preferred Skills
Proficiency and experience with Bloomberg, Excel, Intex, Python and/or other relevant software tools Familiarity with esoteric ABS asset classes, residuals, and/or non-securitized asset-based finance investments Experience with private and 4(a)(2) securitizations Knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices within ABS
