Our client is a Boston-based real estate investment firm specializing in value-add and core-plus commercial properties across the U.S. The firm manages a diverse portfolio including office, multifamily, retail, and mixed-use assets.

Position Summary The Fund Accountant will be responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, and analysis of assigned real estate investment funds. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information, supporting investor reporting, and assisting with fund audits and valuations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the general ledger for multiple real estate investment funds.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Reconcile fund-level cash, capital activity, and investment positions.

Record journal entries for capital calls, distributions, acquisitions, dispositions, and valuation adjustments.

Support the preparation of investor reporting packages, capital account statements, and performance metrics.

Assist with annual financial audits and tax return preparation, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.

Review property-level financial statements and ensure accurate consolidation at the fund level.

Prepare supporting schedules for management and investor requests.

Support forecasting, budgeting, and other analytical initiatives.

Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward CPA a plus).

2-5 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within real estate private equity, investment management, or public accounting.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and investment fund structures.

Experience with real estate accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) and fund administration platforms.

Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data analytics tools a plus.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
