We are seeking an experienced and mission-focused Senior Product Owner to lead the vision, development, and success of our next-generation Data Lakehouse platform. You will drive a product designed to empower DoD cyber operators with data access and analytical capabilities, translating operational challenges into a strategic product roadmap and a prioritized backlog for our engineering teams. Your goal is to deliver products that provide a decisive information advantage for our nation’s cyber defenders. Work is performed in a hybrid environment with some onsite work 1-2 days a week in Columbia, MD and travel up to 25% as necessary. Responsibilities
Own the Product Vision: Define, own, and evangelize the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer mission needs and company strategy. Drive the Backlog: Develop, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog with detailed user stories, epics, and clear acceptance criteria for the engineering team. Engage the User: Serve as the primary interface with DoD cyber stakeholders; conduct discovery to understand workflows, data challenges, and desired outcomes of cyber analysts, threat hunters, and mission commanders. Engage Product Owners: Collaborate with other POs within the Customer Experience Group to align features with customer feedback. Translate Mission to Code: Convert high-level mission requirements into actionable product requirements; discuss data ingestion, query optimization, analytics integrations, and API specifications with the development team. Validate Software: Ensure features meet functional and non-functional requirements through validation against user stories and design documents. Communicate Value: Articulate the platform’s capabilities and impact to diverse stakeholders, from operators to senior leadership. Support Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with business development and marketing to shape messaging, support proposals, and develop demonstrations. Measure Success: Define and analyze key metrics to assess product performance, user adoption, and mission impact, guiding future iterations. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Security Clearance: Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Experience: 9+ years in DoD cyber, agile development, and/or big data with a B.A. in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; or 13 years with a high school diploma/equivalent. Product Owner/PM/TPM: 5+ years in a similar role within an Agile environment. Technical Understanding: Knowledge of modern data architectures (data lakes, data warehousing, big data technologies). Cybersecurity Experience: Professional experience in the cybersecurity domain (SOC, Threat Intelligence, Network Defense, Incident Response). Customer Engagement: Proven ability to work with DoD or Federal Government customers and understand procurement processes. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics. Organization: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Travel and On-site Presence: Ability to travel up to 25% and work on customer sites 1-2 days per week in Columbia, MD. Preferred Requirements
DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required as directed by the customer. Hands-on experience with cloud-native data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS/Azure data services). Customer-facing technical experience in GovCon IT (e.g., Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect). Understanding of the data lifecycle within a cyber security context.
