As a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel - Private Bank, Credit Lending in the U.S. Private Bank Credit Legal team, you will provide legal support to the J.P. Morgan Private Bank and J.P. Wealth Management businesses, focusing on unsecured and secured credit extensions (excluding residential mortgages) and margin lending. You will serve as a trusted advisor to front office and functional partners, offering guidance on complex legal issues and supporting a global business that delivers tailored lending solutions to ultra-high and high net worth clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the ongoing success of the Lending Solutions business.

Job Responsibilities
Counsel Lending Specialists, Credit Risk officers, Bankers, and Financial Advisors on structuring and documenting a variety of credit transactions.
Provide transactional support, including the review, negotiation, and drafting of credit and collateral documentation, guarantees, term sheets, amendments, and waivers.
Tailor standard bank loan documentation forms for custom credit transactions.
Participate in periodic projects related to new product offerings, regulatory matters, and other business initiatives.
Create, revise, update, and maintain standard form documentation.
Deliver training for internal clients and functional partners on legal issues.
Manage and communicate with outside counsel regarding credit documentation issues, procedures, and changes.
Identify and mitigate legal, operational, reputational, and other risks.
Regularly interact with functional partners including Operations, Marketing, Controls, Risk, Compliance, and Product.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Licensed attorney in good standing with at least 5+ years of lending/finance transactional experience with a law firm or in-house legal department at a bank or financial institution.
General knowledge of, and experience with, credit and lending issues, transactions, and documentation.
First-class drafting and negotiation skills; excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to listen and drive results in a team setting.
Collegial, able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
Effective and efficient problem solver; excellent organizational skills with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Self-starter with strong analytical and collaborative skills; able to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Adaptability and ability to apply existing skills to unfamiliar subject matter areas.
