About the Role The Assistant Cultivation Manager position is responsible for co‑managing the cultivation team, in conjunction with the SR Production Manager and National Cultivation Manager, through the daily processes related to the cultivation of cannabis. The Assistant Manager – Cultivation supports leadership initiatives and guides Cultivation Team Leads and Technicians through the daily tasks which are vital to the ability to produce the highest quality cannabis. They are also responsible for disseminating information, providing regular supervision of Cultivation Technicians, and status updates to the Management team.
Responsibilities
IPM Execution
– Execute the IPM plan by regularly inspecting each cultivation room, charting progress, identifying problems early, and ensuring corrective actions are recorded and logged.
Coordinate with the Manager on any changes that may need to be implemented, and implement daily feed and care schedules as directed by Cultivation Management.
Coordinate crop pruning at various stages, maintaining precision and consistency.
Maintain accurate reports on all cultivation activities and propagate activities to meet inventory requirements.
Oversee waste destruction events and maintain accurate reporting.
Ensure post‑harvest processing consistency, including trimming and sorting for delivery to the packaging department.
Perform routine visual inspections of plants, identifying pests or deficiencies and reporting findings to the Cultivation Manager.
Ensure all cultivation equipment and supplies are on hand and ready for use; notify management of any maintenance or inventory issues promptly.
Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment such as shop vacuums, pumps, hoses, carts, scissors, loppers, stools, gloves, and rags.
Monitor and document daily metrics including temperatures, humidity levels, pH, and other parameters set by Cultivation Management.
Accurately record all metrics (nutrients, cloning, repotting, reservoir records, equipment, and other crop logs) within a timely fashion, and participate in regular audits.
Technical Duties
Identify plant health issues related to feed/fertilizers, report to management, and execute corrective actions.
Participate in cultivation planning activities such as calendar layouts, propagation planning, analysis, and other planning activities necessary for business function.
Assist the management team with maintaining the Operations Manual and SOPs.
Be fluent or able to quickly acquire functional knowledge of all company software platforms.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
