Job Title: Quality Assurance Lead
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our food manufacturing processes. This role involves performing daily calibrations, recording results, and addressing discrepancies to maintain accuracy. The Lead will document and report product holds, deviations, and quality issues, escalating critical concerns for immediate resolution. Maintaining detailed records for traceability and follow-up is crucial. The role also involves conducting environmental monitoring, ATP verifications, and allergen testing while troubleshooting to prevent quality failures.
Responsibilities
Perform daily calibrations of scales, thermometers, and other quality-related equipment.
Record calibration results and address discrepancies or malfunctions immediately.
Document and report all product holds, deviations, and quality issues encountered during shifts.
Escalate critical concerns, such as CCP violations, for immediate resolution.
Maintain detailed and accurate records in the shift report for traceability and follow-up.
Perform or assist in environmental monitoring activities, including swabbing.
Conduct ATP verifications and allergen testing, ensuring proper documentation.
Troubleshoot and address issues identified during testing to prevent quality failures.
Actively monitor the designated production line to ensure quality standards are met.
Verify that all QA documentation, including line checks and production records, is completed accurately and on time.
File and organize completed paperwork for compliance and auditing purposes.
Conduct training and retraining of QA floor staff to reinforce food safety and quality standards.
Identify skill gaps among team members and provide hands-on coaching to enhance performance.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in bakery or pizza production.
At least 1 year in a leadership role.
Quality assurance expertise.
Knowledge of HACCP, PCQI, and quality control processes.
Familiarity with food quality regulations, including FDA and USDA standards.
Proven leadership abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
Experience in a role within quality assurance in the food manufacturing industry.
PCQI and/or HACCP certification preferred but not mandatory.
Comfortable making decisions and dealing with situations requiring holds and inspections.
Ability to lead a team and provide firm guidance.
Work Environment
The role is on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The company promotes a transparent culture with an open-door policy, encouraging new ideas and providing opportunities for growth.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
