Security Officer - Telecom Patrol

(Aurora, IL). This role serves and safeguards clients in Tech/Media/Telecom and other industries.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. Your visible presence will deter security‑related incidents and foster a welcoming environment. You will interact with employees and visitors, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to security‑related situations as needed. $23.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Mon: 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM

Tue: 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM

Wed: 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM

Fri: 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM

Sun: 11:00 PM – 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

Support operations across commercial real estate, healthcare, education, and other environments

Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams

Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service

Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

Provide customer service and carry out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate

Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem‑solving skills

Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity

Observe and report any suspicious behavior or incidents during patrols

Communicate clearly and professionally with Allied Universal management, client representatives, and local authorities as required

Assist with access control and monitor entrances/exits per site procedures

Maintain accurate, detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and irregularities

Identify and promptly report maintenance or hazard issues discovered during patrols

What We’re Looking For

Availability across various days and shifts

Reliability and adaptability to different post assignments

A desire for broad experience and growth within the company

Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available

Minimum Requirements

At least 1 year of security‑related experience

Proof of a high school diploma or GED

Minimum 21 years of age (unarmed role 18+; armed role 21+)

Ability to lift more than 20 pounds (preferred)

Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred)

Background investigation and drug screen as conditions of employment

Safety and safety‑related licensing as required by state/local laws

Valid driver’s license required only for driving positions
