Health eCareers Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is seeking a dynamic physician to become the new Section Chief of Neurocritical Care. The new Section Chief will lead Neurocritical Care's clinical and research operations. Overview
The Section Chief of Neurocritical Care will lead a diverse group of physicians and advanced practice providers to provide state-of-the-art patient care, to advance novel research, and to train the next generation of clinicians. This position encompasses clinical, administrative, and research/education activities and will vary based on the candidate’s background. Responsibilities
Lead Neurocritical Care's clinical and research operations. Direct a diverse team of physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver high-quality patient care. Promote an environment of mutual respect and psychological safety within the Section leadership team and the broader organization. Serve as a physician role model for expert, compassionate, high-value clinical care and effective teaching at all levels. Collaborate with interprofessional colleagues across the Department of Neurology, Dartmouth Health, and the Geisel School of Medicine. Participate in the leadership team with the Practice Manager and the Nurse Manager to guide the Section’s direction, operation, and educational and research missions. Engage in activities related to clinical care, education, and research in alignment with the Section, Department, and institutional missions. Qualifications
Board-certified in Neurology and Neurocritical Care; certification in neurocritical care is required. Completed an ACGME-accredited neurology residency. Experienced leader in an academic medical center; able to oversee a busy service. Eligible for licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont (or able to obtain licensure). Familiar with the tripartite academic mission of clinical care, education, and research. Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates will qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine and must be eligible for licensure in NH and VT.
